We’re TakeoffQS, a start up building AI residential estimation software. We’re live with real building companies across New Zealand and moving fast into Australia.
The work
We’ve launched a takeoff service. Merchants send us plans, our engine does the first pass and marks it up on the drawing, and an estimator checks it, fixes it and signs it off. That’s you.
This is contract work, job by job. We offer jobs as they come in. You take the ones that suit you and turn down the ones that don’t. No set hours, no minimum.
There’s some flexibility on where you work, but onboarding and your first few weeks are in our office in Christchurch. You work on your own laptop, you sort out your own insurance, and you can keep doing any other work you already do.
What you’ll do
- Check and correct residential takeoffs in the TakeoffQS software, single storey and multi-unit up
- Log assumptions and exclusions so someone else can follow your schedule
- Flag anything in the plans that looks wrong or incomplete
- Tell us where our measurement rules or the engine get it wrong, so the next job is better
What you’ll bring
- Hands on residential takeoff experience, balance of house, for a merchant or builder
- You know how a merchant thinks: SKUs, wastage, pack rounding
- Accurate and fast
- Comfortable picking up new software, happy to use AI tools and to tell us straight when they’re wrong
What you get
- Paid hourly to start, moving to per-plan rates once volumes settle
- Onboarding and training time paid
- Invoice monthly, paid on the 20th
- A real say in how the service gets built. It’s early.
